It may be warm and sunny right now but we got a killing frost Monday morning taking out all our tomato, pepper, and tomatillo plants. But don’t worry we did a big harvest the day before.

So we will have cherry tomatoes, sweet peppers, and tomatillos at the Easton farmers’ market this Saturday. We did harvest a few heirloom tomatoes but they are a little rough around the edges and are all “seconds”. This might be the last week we are able to offer any of our warm weather loving crops. So prepare yourself and stock up on tomatoes and tomatillos while you can because when they are gone they won’t return until mid-July 2025.

The chilly days of autumn might be the end of summer crops but it is the arrival of the sweetest tubers around, our sweet potatoes! This past Saturday we brought the first of our sweet potatoes to the market and they were a big hit.

We have three varieties available right now: Covington (orange), Purple Majesty (purple), and Hayman (white). We bring a mix of sizes to the market and if you get to our booth early (before 10am) you will have your pick. But if you want a particular size for your tubers and are not sure what time you can get to the market we highly recommend you place your order ahead of time through our online shop where you can choose if you want small, medium, large, or extra large potatoes. This way you will get exactly the type of sweet potatoes you want and they will be waiting for you when you get to the market on Saturday.

Our special this Saturday will be a Grilled Octopus Taco. This tender octopus is served on a warm corn tortilla and garnished with pico de gallo. If you love seafood you will fall head over heels for this special taco, as it tastes kind of scallopy and crabby at the same time.
Our hot soup this week will be Sweet Potato Lentil. This delicious vegan soup is made with our scrumptious sweet potatoes, hearty lentils, and a rich vegetable stock. It is a filling tasty autumn soup without being heavy. We offer our hot soup by the half pint, pint, or quart. Which you can order ahead of time. Our delicious soups are perfect for a quick lunch or part of an extravagant dinner. When making the soups we do not use any preservatives so they must be kept refrigerated or can be frozen for later use.
We look forward to seeing you at the market this Saturday!
