Spring is in the air, and that means it’s almost time for the Easton Farmers’ Market to open for the season! On Saturday, April 12, we’ll be back at the market, bringing you vibrant organic seedlings and delicious food. We can’t wait to reconnect with our community and share another season of local, sustainable goodness.
What’s Growing at Quarter Acre Farm
Spring has kept us busy here on the farm, and we’re thrilled with how everything is shaping up. Our garlic beds are thriving, with all varieties growing strong. We expect garlic scapes by mid-May and full garlic heads to be harvested in late June, which will then be dried and cured, ready for market towards the end of July.
Our tiny tomato seedlings are growing steadily in the greenhouse. We’ve started two dozen different varieties of heirloom and cherry tomatoes, and they’ll be ready for your gardens by early May—just in time for the end of the frost season. In addition to tomatoes, we’ve been starting onions, leeks, peas, herbs, and various types of greens. All these seedlings will be available at the market soon.

Signs of Spring on the Farm
Beyond the crops, the farm is coming alive with the sights and sounds of spring. We’ve spotted skunk cabbage sprouting near our pond, a true sign of the changing season. There’s also many mystery (to us) flowering shrubs on our property, that provide a cheerful pop of color (and a treat for pollinators!). Even our pawpaw trees got some extra attention with a little weeding and fresh mulch. Later this spring we plan to add even more trees to our little orchard.
