I am harvesting lots and lots of cherry tomatoes. It sure is summer when I can spend the afternoon harvesting every cherry tomato I can find and then the next day there are tons more ready to be harvest.

I’m not complaining, as I love cherry tomatoes. I enjoy snacking on them, especially when I can take a break under the tree, to gaze at my field.

This year I am growing 4 varieties: gold nugget and esterina which are both orangey yellow, sweetie a tiny red tomato, and green doctor frost a lovely green tomato. It is nice to have a variety of tomatoes for different flavors and appearance but also to insure a steady production despite pests or disease.

I have just begun to harvest the large heirloom tomatoes with the super early variety Glacier which produces a lovely red sweet but tart tomato. I can’t wait for the rest of the heirloom tomatoes to appear.
