The first of the cherry tomatoes have arrived! This year we are growing 16 different varieties of cherry tomatoes and a few of the varieties started ripening in the last couple of days. So Sunday we went out to pick them to see if we would have enough to fill our pint containers or just enough for a farmer’s snack. Well we filled a couple of pints and can see that many more will be ripening in the days to come.

While we were out in the field we figured we would check on the tomatillos, which typically start to ripen when the heirloom tomatoes do. Well to our surprise tons of the plants had tomatillos ready to harvest! So this week we will be offering cherry tomatoes by the pint and tomatillos by the pound.

In other exciting news our farm swag is now available to be shipped anywhere in the United States. We have set up a shop especially for folks that would just like our t-shirts, tote bags, or hats delivered to their doorstep. You can find the link on our shop page.

The greenhouse is still bursting with plants, especially things that vine. We have pole beans, winter squash, pumpkins, watermelon, honeydew, cantaloupe, cucumbers, and gourds. All of these vine-ing plants can be grown vertically in your garden; they will climb up a trellis allowing you to save space in your garden. That’s right even watermelon and pumpkins can be grown while hanging high in the air.

We always feel honored when folks think of our pico de gallo, guacamole, or ceviche to add to their party menu. Our pint containers, which are 16 ounces, work great for a small gathering. But when the whole family or the entire neighborhood might swing by, we recommend getting our 32 ounce quart containers. This way, there is enough to share. If you’d like a quart of our guacamole or ceviche you must place your order through our online shop as we don’t bring this size to market unless it has been ordered.
This week’s special will be Chorizo Tacos, beef chorizo sauteed with onions served on a corn tortilla and garnished with pico de gallo. The ceviche this week will be perch. We hope you can swing by our booth this weekend.
