It is finally tomato time! Our first planting of cherry tomatoes are ripening and we have started to get a steady, but small harvest off of them. So we recommend that you pre-order your pint of cherry tomatoes or make sure you get to the Easton Farmers’ Market early (i.e. before 10am) so you can snag a pint.

This year we are growing 15 different cherry tomato varieties so each pint contains a mix of different shapes, colors, and sizes of fruit which are all super delicious!

Our heirloom tomatoes take a bit more time to start ripening. They are growing well and are enjoying the warm nights so we expect them to make an appearance at the market in about two weeks.
The summer heat is no joke this year. It seems like we are in a series of nonstop heatwaves. We have been making more lemonades at the farmers’ market than ever before. Of course that’s because our freshly squeezed lemonades are delicious and refreshing on these hot days.
We often get asked how we make these thirst quenching cold cups of citrus goodness. Well, here is our not so secret recipe. We start by adding a healthy portion of ice to the cup then one shot of simple syrup, that we make using organic cane sugar. Next we squeeze half a lemon into the cup and fill to the top with cold water. Give the cup a good stir and it is ready for drinking. Just a few ingredients but it is summer perfection in a cup.
Our special this Saturday will be a Grilled Octopus Taco. This tender octopus is served on a warm corn tortilla and garnished with pico de gallo. If you love seafood you will fall head over heels for this special taco, as it tastes kind of scallopy and crabby at the same time.

All of our take home items are refreshing too. Our guacamole, pico de gallo, and ceviche are perfect to enjoy as a snack, the start to a meal or could easily be a meal in themselves when you don’t want to turn the stove on this summer. Last week we sold out of our ceviche so to make sure you get yours we recommend pre-ordering through our online shop. We have also added more varieties of garlic to our online shop. Right now we have four varieties available including Chesnok Red, Elephant, Georgian Crystal, and German Extra Hardy. They are all sold by the quarter, half, or whole pound.
We hope you will brave the July weather and visit us at the farmers’ market because our booth makes for a scrumptious start to your Saturday!
