Thanks for an Incredible 2025

As the year winds down and winter weather settles in, we’re filled with gratitude as we reflect on another full, joyful market season. From warm conversations on crisp Saturday mornings to staying cool in the shade with pints overflowing with cherry tomatoes, to windy fall days filled with beautiful purple sweet potatoes; all while eating delicious tacos and quesadillas, this year has truly been one for the books.

Thank you to every neighbor, friend, customer, and new face who stopped by the Quarter Acre Farm booth at the Easton farmers’ market. You made 2025 memorable, delicious, and deeply community-centered.

With the season behind us and winter ahead, we wanted to share a few updates, including a fun opportunity for local gardeners and future garlic growers.

Wrapping Up an Incredible Season

This year’s market mornings carried that unmistakable Easton energy: couples strolling with tote bags filled with food, families weaving through the market with lemonade in hand, the sizzle of the grill in the air, and neighbors catching up across the produce tables.

We saw record interest in our farm-grown luffa sponges, made countless bowls of warm soup, shared plenty of quesadillas and tacos, and sent home stacks of butternut squash, sweet potatoes, and pumpkins with folks excited to cook for the colder months.

We’re so grateful for every early morning visit, every pre-order, and every conversation about your favorite recipes, gardening projects, and holiday plans. Supporting regenerative organic farming takes a village, and this community never fails to inspire us.

As the market season wraps up, we’re also excited to pass along something practical you can enjoy growing at home.

Garlic Seed for Your Garden — Pick Some Up!

Garlic planting season is still here, and we want you to grow more of it. If you’re local and looking for seed garlic to plant, swing by the Easton Public Library and visit the Talbot County Free Seed Library.

We had a large surplus of seed garlic this year, so we dropped off many pounds of four different varieties of heirloom hardneck garlic. These varieties are well-suited for planting on the Eastern Shore and will reward you with a bountiful harvest in early July.

Growing your own garlic is one of the easiest and most rewarding garden experiences: plant a single clove, and it yields an entire head of garlic the following summer.

Garlic Planting Tips for Maryland

  • When to plant: By the end of December
  • Soil prep: Amend with compost and/or a general natural-based fertilizer
  • Planting depth: 2 inches deep
  • Spacing: 6 inches between cloves
  • Mulch: Straw, dried leaves, sawdust, or pine needles

Garlic is hardy and forgiving, but good planting practices and thoughtful mulching help suppress weeds and lead to bigger, tastier bulbs come July. If you plant seed garlic from us, we’d love to see it. Snap a photo and tag us @quarterafarm on Instagram or Facebook so we can follow along with your garlic journey and cheer you on throughout the season.

Looking Forward to Spring

Right now, we’re enjoying the slower rhythm of winter: time with friends and family, nourishing food, and a bit of rest after a full season. Before long, our days will shift toward planning, seed ordering, and preparing for the year ahead.

Winter is when we dream big and lay the groundwork for what’s next. We’re already excited for sunny market mornings, fresh tomatoes, vibrant seedlings, and all the familiar rhythms that come with the growing year. We can’t wait to bring new crop varieties, new flavors, and more of the farm-inspired food you love in 2026.

For now, we hope you enjoy hearty meals, cozy kitchens, and the anticipation of what your gardens will bring next summer.

Thank You, From Our Farm to Your Table!

This season was incredible because of you. Your support through laughter, shared recipes, recommendations, and return visits is what allows us to keep doing this work with joy.

Whether you’re planting garlic, roasting pumpkins, or sharing hot cocoa with friends, we hope the food you grow and eat brings you as much delight as it brings us.

Stay warm, get curious in your kitchens and gardens, and we can’t wait to grow with you again in 2026.
