July has arrived in full sun-soaked glory, and the farm is bursting with flavor. From the season’s first heirloom garlic to the cherry tomatoes ripening on the vine, everything is growing, glowing, and ready to hit your plate. Whether you’re gathering with friends or harvesting in your backyard, we’ve got farm-fresh goodness to help you savor every moment of summer.

The First Fireworks: Heirloom Garlic Arrives
We’re kicking off July with a bang, or more accurately, a burst of flavor. Our very first heirloom garlic variety of the season, Basque, will make its market debut this Saturday.

This small-but-mighty hardneck garlic comes from the Basque region of Northern Spain (where it’s known as baratxuri). With bold heat when raw and a rich, earthy sweetness when roasted, it’s the kind of garlic you’ll want to spread on bread like butter. We sell it by the quarter pound, and if you order a full pound, you’ll score a 25% bulk discount. Bonus: it stores beautifully for up to seven months.
Taco Spotlight: Grilled Octopus (Yes, Really)
We love a good taco twist, and this week’s special is pure coastal inspiration: Grilled Octopus Tacos. Tender, char-kissed octopus is served on a warm corn tortilla and topped with our vibrant pico de gallo.
What’s it taste like? Somewhere between scallop and crab; sweet, briny, and surprisingly satisfying. If you’re a seafood fan, don’t sleep on this one.
Cool Off with Our Frozen Take-Home Meal
We get it after the fireworks, parades, and potlucks, the last thing you want to do is cook again. That’s where our July 5th take-home meal comes in:
- Grilled boneless pork loin chop
- Mixed roasted sweet potatoes
- A side of savory gravy
Grab one from the market this Saturday, pop it in the freezer, and reheat whenever you need a break from the stove.
Party-Ready Eats for Every Kind of Gathering
Whether you’re feeding a crowd or just treating yourself, we’ve got the goods to round out your holiday menu:
- Guacamole – creamy, zesty, and made fresh
- Pico de Gallo – bursting with bright tomato flavor and the right amount of lime
- Blue Catfish Ceviche – refreshing, tangy, and delectable
These are perfect for cookouts, snacks, or cooling down with chips and a cold drink under the stars.

Tomatoes, Tomatillos & the Garden that Keeps on Giving
The heatwave may have been intense, but our tomatoes are absolutely loving it. Last week, we brought just a handful of cherry tomato pints to market. But this week, expect more color on the table (though they still go fast, so get there early if you want a pint or pre-order through our online shop.).
Also ripening thanks to the heat are our tomatillos. Whether you’re roasting them, blending salsa verde, or slicing them into tacos, they’re summer in a husk.

And yes, we’re still bringing organic seedlings to market including summer and fall favorites like pumpkins, winter squash, and gourds. There’s still time to plant if you act fast. These heat-loving crops need around 100 days to mature, so July is the prime planting season.
Come Early, Stay Cool, and Eat Well
From Basque garlic and cherry tomatoes, to grilled octopus tacos and local blue catfish ceviche, the flavors of summer are alive and thriving. Swing by the Easton farmers’ market this Saturday to stock up, cool down, and celebrate the holiday weekend the farm-fresh way.
