We are swimming in delicious tomatoes right now and we are loving it! We are having tomatoes at every meal and our dog Sunny thinks cherry tomatoes are the best dog treats ever made.

Since we have a steady flow of tomatoes we are now offering a discount if you want to stock up and buy them in bulk. Order 10 pints of cherry tomatoes for just $40 or 10 pounds of heirloom tomatoes for $35. Either way you save $10 from our normal retail price. If 10 pounds is more tomatoes than you need but you are making sauce or just want to freeze a few tomatoes we offer our tomato seconds by the pound for $2.25 and you can order as little as just one pound. To get the bulk pricing or the seconds you need to order through our online shop by Thursday at 8pm before the Saturday farmers market.

Right now is a great time to transplant melons. We have a nice selection of watermelon, cantaloupe, and honeydew seedlings. Growing melons is fun because they love to grow vertically and you can easily train them to go up a trellis or just a metal tomato cage. This helps save space in your garden. If you are not growing them vertically they still enjoy growing close to together and we find that spacing them 8 inches apart works well.
This past Saturday we were so excited to have a painter set up behind our booth during the Easton Plein Air Quickpaint competition. The painter, Lon Brauer did an amazing job capturing us cooking during a busy market day. He named the painting ‘Quesadillas All Day‘ and we hear it sold immediately.

This weekend our special will be a Heirloom Tomato and Garlic Pesto Quesadilla. We will also have our tomatillo salsa available again. Come on out to the farmers market to enjoy all the summer bounty.
