Fall Fashion

In true fall style we have loads of pumpkins and sweet potatoes. At our last market we secretly debut a new pumpkin variety, Thai Kang Kob, by including it in our Seasonal Veggie Taco. This one is a show stopper with its dramatic pumpkin shape and dark green skin. It is a heirloom so each fruit has some skin color variation with many having tan/ pinkish spots. Its skin is very thin and edible so there is no need to peel it. The flesh is a deep orange and it is sweet without heading into pumpkin pie territory. These are available by the pound along with our Tan Cheese pumpkin which is perfect for pie.

We also have a few new sweet potato varieties to announce. In addition to Covington and All Purple we now have Becca’s Purple and Delaware Purple available. Becca’s Purple has a deeply dark purple flesh and skin, they are very sweet almost like they have been candied. Delaware Purple has a purple-red skin, with an intense white flesh that is smooth and slightly sweet.

We still have loads of sweet peppers both colorful mixes and the classic crisp green bell peppers by the basket. As well as a few hot peppers. We expect to have peppers until about Thanksgiving time.

It is hard to believe that it is almost time for Thanksgiving. But it is just a little over 2 weeks away! Our take home items like guacamole and ceviche make for great Turkey Day appetizers. You can pre-order yours through our online shop for pick up the Saturday before Thanksgiving. Because we make everything fresh, our items will easily last a week in your fridge from the day of purchase.

Not sure what to do the Saturday after Thanksgiving? Well, we invite you to join us for our annual post-Thanksgiving brunch at the Easton Farmers Market on November 25th. We will have tacos, quesadillas, hot soup, lemonade, hot cocoa, and more. To show our gratitude to all our wonderful customers every order that day will receive a free drink or farm tote bag.

Our special for this Saturday, November 11th (Waterfowl Festival) will be our Steak Taco, sliced steak sauteed with onions served on a warm corn tortilla and garnished with pico de gallo. This week, our hot soup will be an Italian Sausage Soup. A delectable brothy soup with chunks of sausage, local greens and vegetables. We hope to see you at the market.
