Quarter Acre Farm grows certified organic heirloom vegetables in Caroline County, Maryland and every Saturday we cook and serve fresh food at the Easton farmers’ market.

We find November brings that cozy mood shift: richer food, fuller color, slower mornings, and earlier nights, and this week we are bringing some deliciousness and fun to the Easton farmers’ market.
We’ve got the first sweet potatoes of the season finally ready after curing … plus brand new Quarter Acre Farm magnets to celebrate your Saturday market traditions.
This is the kind of week where fall flavor really takes the lead.
The First Sweet Potatoes Are Here
We’ve been digging sweet potatoes for weeks and giving them time to properly cure (this is the secret to great flavor). The first rows we harvested are now ready, and they are fantastic.
This Saturday, we’ll have two heirloom varieties available:
Delaware Purple
• purple-red skin with white flesh
• lightly sweet and smooth texture
• great for roasting and mashing
Purple Majesty
• purple skin with deep purple flesh
• keeps its vibrant color when cooked
• naturally high in anthocyanins (powerful antioxidants)
These sweet potatoes are so good that everyone wants a bite, even the little wildlife out in the field. Don’t worry, we only pack the perfect ones for you.

Take-Home Meal for Saturday, Nov. 8th
Grilled Boneless Pork Loin Chop: This tender and juicy pork chop is served with roasted yukon potatoes and a side of our pico de gallo. They are fully frozen so you can take it home and pop it in the freezer to eat whenever you need a delicious meal without the fuss of cooking.
If you don’t want to worry about the chance of us selling out (as we sometimes do) please pre-order early through our online shop.
Cherry Tomatoes… in November?!
We don’t grow our tomatoes under cover, they live out in the open field, so it’s unusual for us to still have cherry tomatoes this late.
But this year we’ve so far evaded a killing frost.
So yes… it’s November 5th and we are still harvesting cherry tomatoes. We’ll have pints again this Saturday, but we expect frost to arrive soon so this could be the last week.
Pre-order through our online shop or make sure you get to market before 10am if you want some.

Saturday’s Soup: Chicken Vegetable
Succulent chicken simmered in a rich broth with carrots, celery, and onions it is warm, comforting, and completely gluten-free. Perfect for chilly November market mornings.
