Last week’s tomatillo harvest marked the end of an abundant season. Many plants had given their all with a few still hanging on, but no new fruit forming. So with the last pounds of tomatillos, we’re celebrating the season’s finale with something special: Veggie Pozole Verde, a hearty, plant-based Mexican stew that’s equal parts cozy and vibrant.
The broth gets its flavor from roasted tomatillos, celery, cilantro, onions, and garlic combined to make a tangy, savory base. To that, we add white beans and hominy for extra flavor and heartiness. The result is rich, comforting, and completely vegan; a bowl of fall warmth everyone can enjoy.

Taco Special: The Denver Taco
Inspired by the classic Denver omelet, this week’s taco layers chopped ham, sweet peppers, onions, and fluffy scrambled eggs into a warm corn tortilla. Topped with our fresh pico de gallo, it’s the kind of taco that bridges breakfast and lunch in the best way possible.
Come early (before 10am) as the Denver Taco always draws a line, and once they’re gone, they’re gone!

Cherry Tomatoes Hanging On (for Now!)


Because we plant multiple successions of tomatoes, our cherry tomatoes are still going strong! Even in mid-October, the plants keep offering little bursts of summer sweetness.
But the clock is ticking … frost usually lands around Halloween, though Mother Nature might surprise us sooner. Once frost hits, tomato season is officially over.
Now’s the time to stock up. Grab a pint or two at the market or order ahead online to savor those last juicy reminders of summer while you can.
Heirloom Pumpkins: Pretty and Delicious
Sure, pumpkins are cute and perfect for decorating your porch, but we’re here to remind you they’re downright delicious too. Right now, we’ve got Black Futsu pumpkins, a Japanese heirloom with rich, nutty, slightly sweet flavor and a creamy texture.

The best part? Their thin, edible skin means no peeling required. They make incredible soup, taste great roasted, and yes we like to add them to tacos. (Highly recommend.)
What’s Ahead at the Farm
Even though October days are shorter and the farm feels a bit quieter, our fields still hum with life. Cherry tomatoes are holding steady, and our sweet potatoes, winter squash, and luffa gourds are ripening beautifully.
In the next week or so, we’ll begin harvesting these fall crops, each one grown with care using our organic, regenerative methods that keep our soil healthy and full of life.
