Bold Flavors, Cozy Vibes at the Easton Farmers’ Market

As October rolls on, everything feels a little slower, a little cozier, and a lot more delicious. The air is crisp, the leaves are changing, and the Easton farmers’ market is bursting with comfort food worth leaving the house for.

This Saturday, we’re serving up three special dishes that capture everything we love about fall: Chicken Mole Tacos, brothy Fish Soup, and Beer-Brined Pork Ribs; plus plenty of field-fresh produce still coming in strong.

What’s Cooking This Week

🌮 Chicken Mole Tacos: A Taste of Tradition
Our taco special this week celebrates the deep, complex flavors of traditional Mexican mole. Tender chicken is simmered in a rich, smoky red mole sauce that’s a touch spicy and full of warmth. Served on a warm corn tortilla with queso fresco on top, this taco is hearty enough for lunch but light enough to enjoy with your morning market hot cocoa.

Come early, the Chicken Mole Taco has been known to disappear before 10am!

🍲 Fish Soup: Comfort in a Cup
When you need something cozy to carry around the market, our Fish Soup is the perfect companion. It’s made with a mix of white fish and salmon in a tomato-based broth with celery, carrots, and onions. This is the kind of soup that’s both light and deeply satisfying.

It’s gluten-free, full of real flavor, and served hot at the market in three sizes: half-pint, pint, and quart.

🍖 Take-Home Meal: Beer-Brined Pork Ribs with Green Beans
Need dinner handled before the week even starts? This one’s for you.
We brine tender pork ribs in a blend of beer, lime juice, salt, and black pepper, then grill them to perfection. Each ready-to-heat meal comes with blanched green beans and a side of our fresh pico de gallo. It’s smoky, tangy, and incredibly satisfying; a fan favorite that sells fast online.

Field Notes from the Farm

🥔 Sweet Potato Season
We’re halfway through our sweet potato harvest, and while some of the tubers are smaller than usual (thanks to that hot, dry June), they’re looking beautiful. After harvest, they’ll cure for two weeks to let their natural sugars develop, which means you can expect them at market starting in early November. Patience will pay off with these sweet, colorful beauties.

🎃 New Pumpkin Variety: Long Island Cheese
Meet our newest pumpkin: Long Island Cheese – big, tan-skinned, and filled with dense orange flesh that’s tender and creamy when cooked. They’re mild, sweet, and perfect for soups, pies, or roasting.

We still have our beloved Black Futsu pumpkins too. Smaller than Long Island Cheese but deeply flavorful and nutty. Both are beautiful enough for your porch and delicious enough for your kitchen.

🍅 Cherry Tomatoes Still Hanging On
Believe it or not, we’re still harvesting cherry tomatoes! The frost-free forecast means at least another week of these juicy, bite-sized reminders of summer. Once frost arrives (usually around Halloween), tomato season wraps up, so grab them while you can.
