This week is National Farmers Market Week and Maryland Farmers Market Week, and we could not think of a better way to celebrate than with a deal that tomato lovers will not want to miss. Here is everything happening at the Easton farmers’ market this Saturday, August 8th!

It’s National Farmers Market Week And We’re Celebrating
Maryland Governor Wes Moore has declared August 2 – 8, 2026 as Maryland Farmers Market Week, joining the national celebration of the vital role farmers markets play in communities across the country. Farmers markets are so much more than a place to shop. They are where farmers and neighbors connect, where local food economies thrive, and where communities come together around something real and meaningful. We are proud to be part of that story every single Saturday at the Easton farmers’ market from April – December, and we are grateful for every one of you who makes it part of your week too.

Speaking of which, if you love the Easton farmers’ market, this is your chance to say so. The America’s Farmers Market Celebration, run by the American Farmland Trust, is the only annual public ranking of the top farmers markets in the United States. Please take a moment to cast your vote for the Easton Farmers’ Market at markets.farmland.org/markets/315026. Every vote counts and helps shine a light on the markets and communities that make local food possible.

A Cherry of a Deal: 10 Pints for $50
Now for the news that tomato lovers have been waiting for. When our cherry tomato harvest is coming in strong, we love to pass the abundance along to you. This week we are offering 10 pints of certified organic cherry tomatoes for just $50, a savings of $10 off our regular price of $6 per pint. Pre-order only through our online shop at quarter-acre.com/shop and pick up at the Saturday market. We only offer this bulk discount when we have a robust harvest coming in, so take advantage of it while you can.
Not sure what to do with 10 pints of cherry tomatoes? Here are a few ideas:
Roast them low and slow with olive oil and garlic and freeze in batches for the most flavorful winter pasta sauce you have ever tasted. Cook a few pints down into a deeply flavorful cherry tomato jam that is incredible on cheese boards and grilled meats. Blend them into a fresh summer gazpacho. Or simply eat them straight from the pint, because nothing beats a perfectly ripe cherry tomato in August.
This Week’s Special: Chicken Mole Taco
This taco brings the warmth and depth of traditional Mexican cooking. Tender chicken simmered in a rich, smoky red mole sauce that is slightly spicy and full of flavor, served on a warm corn tortilla and topped with queso fresco. Bold, comforting, and absolutely worth arriving early for.
Take-Home Frozen Meal: Chicken Mole with Rice
Love the mole? Take that flavor home with you. This Saturday’s ready-to-heat frozen meal features tender chicken thighs simmered in that same smoky red mole sauce with just a touch of spice, served with fluffy white rice and topped with queso fresco. A rich, deeply satisfying meal ready whenever you are.
Fall Garden Seedlings Are Here
It is never too early to start thinking about your fall garden. This Saturday we have Waltham Broccoli and Mizspoona Mustard Green seedlings available, both well suited for the cooler temperatures ahead. Cabbage, broccolini, and other fall seedlings are coming in about two weeks. The fall garden season sneaks up fast, so keep an eye on the shop.
