Tomatoes

I got tomatoes coming out of my ears and I’m fine with it.  We wait all spring for the plants to bloom and all summer for the fruit to ripen.

As the summer is finishing and fall is starting, bam tomatoes start to blush and ripen.  At first just one or two on each plant are ready for eating.

Then the surge starts to build and everyday there are plenty to harvest.

But the pace continues to quicken as the weeks go on and every time you turn around each plant is covered with ripe tomatoes begging to be picked.

And you must pick them as winter is coming and you will think longingly of days where every meal contained juicy flavorful tomatoes.

So get out there and eat your fill of tomatoes, put them in everything.  Take the time to preserve tomatoes so during the winter your plate can be filled with beautiful local tomatoes.
